FFfAW-Family Vacation

My husband and I decided to take two months off of work and go to as many beaches as we could. We had been saving for a long time for this vacation because Randall loves to kayak and I just love the oceans.

Randall was out kayaking and I was lying on the beach soaking in the sun when a young man came running, yelling, “Shark! Shark!”

Instantly, I jumped up and started looking for Randall. I couldn't see him and my heart fell to the bottom of my stomach.

I ran as fast as I could to the ocean and saw that everyone on the beach were panicking. Me included.

I strained my eyes to look for Randall and began to believe the shark had attacked him. Tears were welling up in my eyes making it difficult for me to see.

Suddenly, someone touched my shoulder and I automatically turned around. It was Randall. He had gone to get himself a hotdog.

I hugged him tight and cried, thankful he had become hungry.

  1. Your story is enough to put me off swimming in such a beautiful place. I never would have thought of sharks.

    • Yes, I’m sure he did! LOL! Iain, I have been trying to read your story on InLinkz and my iPad keeps crashing on me. In fact, it is happening with almost all of the stories I am trying to read on InLinkz. I’m not sure I will be able to read the stories this week. I haven’t tried blogging on my laptop, but this afternoon, I’m going to try and blog from my laptop and see if I can read the stories.

  2. Nicely done but a lot of drama over a hot dog. πŸ˜‰ In Kona, one of the best snorkling beaches had a resident tiger shark. I’ve never met her

  3. A exciting and suspenseful story, Joy! Thankfully, Joe got hungry and decided to do something about it, but too bad she experiencde a terrible fear. This type of thing does reinforce the thankfulness for the ones we love.Things can happen so suddenly and they do not always turn out so well.

  4. I’m glad he was okay and just getting food. I thought for a moment he was playing a san trick on her or he’d been bitten! To much Jaw’s movies I guess lol.

I would love to read your thoughts...
