FFfAW – New Coffee

This morning I decided to try the new coffee I bought at the grocery store last Saturday. It's name is “Nature's Best Coffee.”

I put 2 heaping teaspoons full of the black granuals in my cup and added water from the kitchen sink. I then placed the cup into the microwave and heated it up for 1 and a half minutes.

When I took it out of the microwave, I couldn't believe my eyes. I didn't recognize the goop that was flowing over the sides of the cup.

Desperate, I grabbed the package and read the ingredients.

“Genetically Modified.”

Thank you artycaptures for our photo prompt this week!

  1. Genetically Modified coffee… OMG. I would not like to even taste it. loved your story and brought a smile on my face.
One day the Govts and the conglomerates will repent for introducing GM foods.

  2. Ha ha. It’s hard to know what genetic modifications can do to a substance! I get the feeling the scientists didn’t bother with the follow-up tests on this one. πŸ™‚

          • Pretty good but I can tell the light is getting let’s. I get more fatigued. I’ll get used to it, but it takes a bit now and in November again.

How’s Sugar doing. Is she pretty well trained? Has she grown?

          • I’m sorry you get more fatigued when the light gets less. Do ya’ll have mostly dark in the winter like Alaska? Sugar is doing great! She is trained! She is also very spoiled! I guess that what happens when you have an “only child.” LOL! I also adopted a kitten and she and Sugar love each other except when Sugar plays too rough. Haha!

          • Aw, that’s good. They can keep each other company and you too. It doesn’t get that dark. And we have day light savings time, so that makes it worse in winter. We don’t get as dark as Alaska, they have months without a sunrise, or only for a few minutes. In December we will be dark around 4:30 pm or 5:00 pm and light around 9:00 am I think. So the majority of day is still light, I think they are getting rid of daylight savings time though, so I’m not sure what that will mean. Less light probably.

          • We have daylight savings time too. Here it usually gets light around 6:45 am to 7:00 am and then gets dark around 5:00 pm (in the winter). I wish they would get rid of daylight savings time here but I doubt that they will because the construction companies, ect. like it.

          • Yeah I know what you mean. I guess here there are a staggering amount of statistics that the time change means lost productivity, increased traffic fatalities and accidents in general, and a lot of lost money and lives b/c of that one hour of lost sleep. I don’t know if they’ve done it but they’re considering it!

          • When I was still working I sure do remember how hard that 1 hour of lost sleep was for me and I remember the difficulty of getting use to the changes each time they changed the time!

  3. Lol…Nature’s Best…Genetically Modified…that’s great! It certainly was…and I would touch that with a 10′ pole!! I certainly hope that isn’t nature’s best…hehe Another fun story PJ!! πŸ™‚
