I was over the moon! Finally, I was on my dream vacation to China. A place I wanted to visit all my life.
My first order of business was to go shopping. So many fabulous bargains can be found in China.
I walked into the shoe store and two gentlemen came over to assist me immediately. They were dressed very well and both were so nice! In fact, they even talked to me in English. I was so surprised!
I asked to try on a pair of red high heels and they immediately brought me the shoes to try on. When I put them on my feet I felt like I was in another world. A world I have never been in before.
Suddenly, the shoes became glass slippers. One of the men turned into a prince and the other man turned into a mouse dressed as a coachman. What is this? I was in the Cinderella fairytale!
I quickly took off the shoes and ran out the door!
Fairy tales belong in story books.

She should have stayed. Sounds like the beginning of a great adventure.
Yes, you’re right. It would have been a great adventure!
Magic is all fun and dandy only in the books. Good on her to have run. This was fun, PJ.
Thank you so much Varad!
I wouldn’t blame her for freaking out. It’s one thing to read about it, but another entirely to be in one. Cool take on the prompt!

Isadora 😎
Thank you so much Issy!
What a delightful story. Fairy-tales aren’t for everyone 🙂
I loved fairy tales as a young girl and when I got married I thought it would be happy ever after just like the fairy tales…but marriage is work and it isn’t like the fairy tales. Thank you so much!
This ones cute and very funny. I’d be like, why not. In China if you went to a shoe store that was your average shoe store, you’d go to a floor at the mall and there would a full floor of different shoe stores and styles. Probably knock offa. You’d probably have to haggle for the price too. Real name brand stores are much like they are here, but if you have bigger women’s feet, you might have trouble finding the right size. An interesting way to go 🙂
Hahaha! If you have bigger women’s feet you might have a hard time finding shoes in China. Don’t the women there have small feet or is that Japan?
Both places. The sizing for clothes and shoes is quite different. If you’re a size medium here, you’re a large there, and in most places, there shoe size matches their smaller frames and heights. Japan does/did have Geishas and had wrapping feet for women for many years. I believe it’s illegal now. Surprisingly, there are places where the people are quite tall and big boned. A famous NBA player was from Japan and was almost 7 feet or near, and had to have big feet lol.
That is really interesting about their sizes there. Wow, 7 ft. is probably really really tall in Japan because they are so small!
Yeah, I think so too. But, even in Asian cultures in China/Japan etc. There are areas where the people are taller and bigger boned. It’s interesting to us, I guess, as we tend to see that the majority are more fine-boned and smaller. But, it’s not always the case just as with different European cultures. I guess in North America we are very multicultural so we notice these differences less.
That is very interesting about the tall, large boned people in China!
Hehe yep. Have a good week PJ 🙂
You have a good week too and a good weekend!
Thanks PJ 🙂
I love this story…except I love fairy tales to happen in real life…not in books!! What a fun story PJ…great take on the photo. xoxo 🙂 ❤
That was the reason I wrote the story – fairy tales don’t happen in real life. Like you, I wish they did!! LOL! xoxoxo
Well we’ll have to change things so they do happen in real life! Starting now… 😉 xoxo
LOL! Ok!! 😀
I didn’t get a chance to tell you but I had cataract surgery on my left eye on the 30th of last month. All went well! It was an easy peasy surgery. In and out in about 1 hour.
Oh wow, and now do you see better?
Yes, I really do. Unfortunately, I will still need glasses because when I had my right eye done 7-8 years ago, they didn’t have lenses that would correct stigmatism. So he had to put the same type of lens in my left eye.
>
But now they do? It’s amazing how things evolve and what they can do today. Too bad he couldn’t correct both, oh well, at least you can see better!
Yes, I was disappointed that I could have my vision corrected to perfect. At least I can see better.
Yeah, at least you can see better! 👀
LOL! Yes! It’s great seeing better!
