Strangeville

I just finished reading a delightful book, titled, “Strangeville,” by Kenneth Tingle.

Young John has lost his parents to tragedy and finds himself alone and in a dead-end job. He is on his way to commit suicide but finds that he has to “take a crap” first. He worries that if he kills himself, this bodily function will automatically happen and all the creatures of the forest would then come and eat his body. So, he changes his mind and goes back home.

His aunt, who has not talked to him in ten years calls him and invites him to come stay with them. He is happy to take their offer and sets out on a road trip to their home.

Along the way, John becomes lost and ends up in a town called Strangeville. This town is something “somewhat” similar to the lost city of Atlantis. Except this town is not only “off the grid” but is frozen in time. The 1950's to be exact. And the residents have no idea there is an “outside world” out there very different from their own.

Strangeville has a strange and hilarious way of conquering John's desire to die.

All those hillbilly's and hicks in this novel will capture your heart and your imagination as you are taken on a trip through Strangeville – the “Twilight Zone.”

I give this book five stars because I loved every minute of it.

Do You Love to Read?

Recently I wrote a post about BOOKBUB. I decided to write another one because I am so impressed with this company.

Once I signed up (free, of course) I started getting a daily email showing the books they have for a special price that day and almost always, at least two of the books are offered for FREE. I have never seen a book over the price of $2.99.

I DO NOT GET FREE BOOKS OR EBOOKS FOR THESE POSTS, OR ANY OTHER FORM OF REIMBURSEMENTS, AND I DO NOT WORK FOR BOOKBUB. I just want to share a good thing.

“Almost” all books I have chosen have been five star books that I have thoroughly enjoyed reading. Occasionally, there is a book that I can't make myself finish reading, but this is rare.

When I signed up, I was allowed to select the categories of books I am interested in reading and am only sent these type of books in my emails.

I went into Pinterest and found a few of the book covers of books that I have read and really enjoyed.

(I wished I could have found more covers of the books I have read and really enjoyed to put into this post).

Happy Reading!!

Reading Fury

Lately I have been reading with an insatiable appetite. Fortunately, most of the books that I have chosen fromBookBub have been wonderful five star reading.

Just in case you have never heard about BookBub, I would like to tell you about them. (For your information, I do not work for them and am not making money or getting books for telling you about them).

When you sign up to BookBub, you choose what type of books interest you, then every day they send an email with a list of books, within your interests, that are on special. Almost always there are several books each day that are free. The highest priced book they have offered in these specials were $2.99, but most of them are only .99 cents, and again, several each day are free.

In case you have never heard about BookBub and like to read, check them out!
