Margie stared into her half empty glass as tears trickled down her cheek. The jukebox was playing “Unchained Melody,” and she thought of Bobby and how he had left her for another girl.
The alcohol was suppose to medicate her and make her feel better but it was only making her feel worse. She had come to the pier to enjoy the evening and forget about Bobby. Unfortunately, neither had worked.
As she drank her drink and cried her tears, she saw a girl and boy holding each other out on the pier and she felt her heart break again.

I hope her heart will heal in time and be open to love again ❤

Unchained Melody, alcohol, and a couple kissing. The perfect ingredients to make heartache worse. Well done!
Thank you so much! 🙂
Such a sad story, I was fearing she might do something drastic. I hope someone comes along and gives her a hug soon.
She sure does need a hug! Thank you so much, Iain!
No fun, being in that spot – and most of us have been there. She needs to wallow a while, then hopefully … Sad tale PJ
Yes, most of us have been there, for sure! Thank you so much, Lynn!
My pleasure
Sad and heart breaking story.

Awww, she should look up, towards that hot guy on the paraglider 🙂
LOL! That’s true! I hadn’t thought of that!
That must have been Margie’s boyfriend with another girl. Time will balm her wounds and she will meet someone who loves and respects her.
