FFfAW-The Beach

Betty could feel the sun beating on her skin and see the beautiful blue ocean as she thought about their upcoming cruise.

She fingered the skimpy yellow bikini thinking how angry Harry might be when she wears it at the beach. No matter, she bought it anyway.

The first time Harold saw her in the bikini, he almost dropped his paper umbrella drink.

“My God, Betty, get some clothes on!”

“This is what I'm wearing whether you like it or not!”

Harold grinned, put on his speedo, grabbed Betty's arm and together in grand style, they walked to the beach.

FFfAW-Two Dozen Roses

The audience began clapping as soon as Leah walked onto the stage while the orchestra tuned their instruments. Bright blue lights suddenly beamed on her making her feel like she was the only person in the room.

After five beautiful, mesmerizing songs, Leah, bowed to the audience and slipped to the back of the stage as the curtains closed. The audience started clapping and whistling. Leah ran back to the stage and took another bow.

Ecstatic, she ran to her dressing room and waiting for her were two dozen red roses and a note.

“I love you, my darling wife.”

MFtS-The Secret Castle

“Few knew about the castle hidden inside the island,” said our tour guide as we were getting off the boat at the island castle.

As we were walking through the castle, we heard a noise. It wasn't loud but loud enough for us to hear. Our tour guide pretended he didn't hear anything but it bothered the entire group as we were suppose to be the only people in this mysterious castle.

About the same time that a few of us were going to sneak away to locate the noise, a small kitten came walking up to us, wrapping its body around our legs and purring.

Jenny picked up the kitten and decided she would take her home and adopt her. She named her, Princess. She didn't know that she really was a princess. Her great great grandmother had been turned into a cat by the resident magician, at the request of her husband, King William the Terrible.

SPF-Homeless

Ray kicked the autumn leaves on his way to the soup kitchen to get his meal for the day. He was especially hungry and hoped he would be able to have seconds.

The line was long to the lunchtime meal which meant there probably wouldn't be enough food for seconds.

Sue handed Ray a bologna sandwich, a bowl of soup and some carrot sticks. It wasn't much and certainly not enough to fill his belly.

The nights were getting cooler and his little camp in the woods didn't provide him much warmth.

Tonight, he would have to make a campfire.

FFfAW – The Lake House

Listening to the rain tapping the roof, Carol remembered how peaceful that sound once made her feel. She wanted to feel that peace again.

Jason took that peace away from her. It's his fault she fell in love with him and why all she felt was raging jealousy.

Jason wouldn't allow himself to be tied to just one woman.

Not being able to take it anymore, she lured Jason to the basement, shot him and shoved his body into the waiting grave. The large steamer trunk fit over the top just fine.

Finally, peace has found her once again.

MFtS-Camp Skagway

The A&B Building was made entirely from driftwood back in 1899 and it was turned into a dorm for the counselors of Camp Skagway,” Joe proudly told his friend about the camp counselors' dorm that he dearly loved.

“I have never seen a building quite as unique as this one. I love the architecture of it.” Ben told his friend.

“You will love being one of the counselors for the camp kids, they are all great kids and rarely do we have problems with any of them. Well, except for…” Joe went into deep thought.

“Except for what Joe?!” Ben questioned.

“Except for Joseph Pinwheel. He put a fish underneath each counselor's bed and none of us knew about it until, well… until we started smelling them.” Joe took a deep breath, then sighed deeply, “It took us many weeks to finally get rid of that horrible smell.”

SPF-The Race Car

John had always wanted to race cars, but family life and financial obligations kept him from it. When he hit his mid forties and the kids were almost raised he bought a sports car “kit” and assembled it. From that point on, his summer weekends were spent racing around the local racetrack. He said he felt free when he was racing in his sporty race car.

They said he was rounding the curve on the track and was giving his buddies the thumbs up as he was taking the curve. He missed the curve and flew over the side of the track and off the edge of the cliff. That put an end to John's racing.

John was a great guy. I and many others really miss him. But, at least he died doing what he loved.

FFfAW – The Painting

Quietly enjoying this beautiful garden, I watch as a woman comes and sets up her easel, paints and brushes. I watch her layer paint onto the canvas, adding different shades of greens, reds, blues and purples and the painting becomes an exquisite masterpiece.

I feel transported into a different dimension from which I don't want to return. This painting captures everything I feel as I sit in this peaceful, resplendent garden.

The woman begins to fade as though she was never there. I move forward, pick up the painting, paints and brushes and walk home feeling like a new person.

MFtS – Treehouse Home

She lived in a mango tree for almost her entire adult life. Shasta dreamed of living in a tree house. Her husband built her their dream house on the 7th year of their marriage and they lived in it for the next 51 years, until Maximus, the love of her life, passed away. Shortly after that, Shasta wasn't able to climb the stairs anymore and had to move in with her daughter.

Shasta missed her small home. She missed being in the mango tree and being one with the birds that perched in its branches. She missed everything about her life before old age set in. But, she missed Maximus most of all.

Shasta passed away eight short months after Maximus. Her daughter said she died of a broken heart; that she never got over the death of her beloved husband.

The tree house and the mango tree still stands.

SPF-Making Up

Red faced and angry, he stormed out of the house and drove away. I was crushed. Why take off in the middle of a disagreement and not stay and work things out? Seems I have married a runner.

Disheartened, I put our baby into the stroller and we went for a walk around the neighborhood.

It felt good to be out in the wonderful fresh air and sunshine. It helped me see things in a much clearer perspective and my anger and frustration disintegrated and turned into understanding.

After about an hour of enjoying our lovely brisk walk, the baby and I went back home to find Kevin there waiting for us. He handed me a single long stemmed beautiful rose bud (his peace offering).

Wiping a tear away, I put the bud in a vase and kissed him. I sure love this guy!

Making up is simply the best!
