I love going to our cabin in the woods in the fall when the leaves are magnificent colors.
Today, as I drive to our special place I remember all the memories we made together.
I remember fishing in the stream, having bonfires on chilly evenings and cooking hotdogs and marshmallows over the fire.
I remember frying fish at night and biscuits and gravy in the mornings.
I remember wading through the stream while wet sand squished between my toes and how I laughed because you squealed when a fish touched your ankle.
Those are the days I love to remember.

Thank you so much Iain! I want to also thank you for reading the other participants’ stories and always commenting. Thank you!!
You’re welcome. I always find it really interesting to see what everyone has come up with, whether it’s similar to my idea, or like this week, I seem to have come up with something completely different!
It really is interesting to see what others come up with. So many times I am surprised they see something in the photo that I have missed!
A lovely suspended ending
“Those are the days I love to remember.”
There are others less likeable for sure and it’s a great way of showing us.
Thank you so much Graham!!
Lovely memories. I get the impression the person they shared these with isn’t around any more, though.
Yes, that is true. The person he is remembering has passed away. I didn’t realize that there is a tombstone sitting next to this house until after I had written my story. So, it unexpectedly tied in! LOL! Thank you Ali!

What beautiful memories! Those are the ones you cherish and never forget!! Love that picture too…Fall is so pretty here in New England. Do your trees’ leaves change colors?
Yes, our trees’ leaves change color too unless they are evergreen trees. I can imagine that fall is very beautiful in New England because ya’ll have so many more trees than we do here!
Oh that’s wonderful so you too get to enjoy the change of season. It truly is a beautiful and magical scene. People drive all through New England to view them, they’re called Leaf Peepers!! Lol… 🙂
It’s even prettier to drive 50-60 miles up to the LaPlata mountains and see all the aspens changing color.
Oooh, that does sound like it would be pretty.
It really is beautiful.
