FFfAW – The President

The sun was beating down as the crowd gathered to see the President emerge from the building.

I had seen him on the television but never in person and I heard he was a character larger than life. I wasn't so sure about that. He just seemed to be a loud, foul mouthed man.

There is a lot of people that don't like him and have threatened his life. I guess that is the reason for all of the police and security restraining the crowd from coming any closer.

Suddenly, he appeared but he didn't seem so bad to me?

Cause and Effect

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Cause, Meet Effect.”

You can singlehandedly create a causal relation between two things that are currently unconnected — a word and an emotion, a song and an extreme weather event, wearing a certain color and winning the lottery. What cause would you link to what effect, and why?

Johanna had a rabbit’s foot. She loved this rabbit’s foot and wholeheartedly believed that it was the one and only thing that brought her good luck.

The rabbit’s foot was white and furry and dangled from her key chain. This kept her safe driving. She was sure of it.

She lived with the attitude that nothing bad could happen to her because she had a rabbit’s foot. And, to make a long story short, she was a bit careless because of it.

Sometimes she would go out with friends to party and have a few drinks and drive home feeling quite safe because of her white foot treasure.

Sometimes she would drive over the speed limit, again, feeling perfectly safe.

Many times she drove from the bar to her home at night and always arrived home safely. Even though there were many times her foot was a bit heavy on the gas pedal, she had the good luck of not being pulled over by a cop.

On her way home after “Happy Hour” with her friends, Johanna was a little distracted when something small and white scurried across the road in front of her. Startled, she threw on the brakes, which caused her to lose control of the car and swerve off the road into the ditch.

Lucky for Johanna, she wasn’t badly hurt, but the little white fur-ball was. She picked it up from the road and gently cupped it in her hands. It was a very frightened white baby rabbit now with only three legs.

Johanna threw away her lucky rabbit’s foot. She is much happier now, with her new beloved pet.
